

Former Team India pacer Ajit Agarkar was named as the chairman of the Indian Senior Men’s Selection Committee. The BCCI made the official announcement a few hours back. It is said that Ajit Agarkar gave his interview for the one vacant position in the committee and the Cricket Advisory Committee which has Sulakshana Naik, Ashok Malhotra, and Jatin Paranjape as the members unanimously recommended him to be the head of the committee.
It is well known that the Chief Selection Committee’s role was vacant since Chetan Sharma resigned from the post following a sting operation by a news channel.
Ajit Agarkar represented India in 26 tests, 191 ODIs, and also 4 T20Is. Agarkar was the fastest to reach 50 ODI wickets as he completed it in 23 matches during his time. Ajit Agarkar along with his team will soon select the T20I squad for the tour of West Indies.
Now the Selection Committee consists of Ajit Agarkar, Shiv Sundar Das, Subroto Banerjee, Salil Ankola, and Sridharan Sharath.
