5 Reasons why India lost to Australia in the first T20I

India started on a losing cause in the T20 series against Australia. The first T20 went down to the wire and eventually, Australia kept their cool. India posted a massive total of 208 runs, thanks to the massive contribution of Hardik Pandya and the useful knocks of KL Rahul and Suryakumar Yadav.

However, bowling let India down as the target is chased quite comprehensively. Cameron Green, Matthew Wade, and other handful knocks put Australia on the winning side.

Here are the reasons why India lost the match.

* Not picking up Ashwin –

We have seen how Axar Patel bowled with his fingerspin. Controlling Leg Spin is quite difficult and Chahal struggled. Ashwin might come in handy.

* Fielding and Catching –

India has improved a lot in the fielding and catching department over the years. But in yesterday’s match, it was quite baffling to see the standards. Many catches were dropped and many runs leaked.

* Death overs –

This is becoming quite a concern. Australia scored more than 50 overs in 4 overs at the death. We have faced a similar problem in the Asia Cup as well.

* Bowling –

Bhuvneshwar Kumar is leaking runs, Harshal Patel leaked runs, Hardik Pandya is not effective, and Umesh Yadav is scratchy. How can we expect to win?
