Champion wrestler Sakshi Malik announced that she quit wrestling after Brij Bhushan Singh’s close aide Sanjay Singh was appointed the new president of the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI). Sakshi Malik after the appointment announced her retirement from the sport. She said that she won’t compete under the presidency of Brij Bhushan’s loyalist.

“We slept for 40 days on the roads. A large number of people from all corners of the country came in to support us. If Brij Bhushan’s business partner and close aide is elected as the President then I quit wrestling,” she said.

She continued, “We have demanded for a Woman President. Today, not even a single woman is given a position. We had fought with what we had. This fight will continue. The next generation will have to continue the fight.”

Sakshi Malik left the press conference in tears but before that, she removed the shoes and left it on the table.
