Urvashivo Rakshasivo movie review – Middling rom-com

Cast: Allu Sirish, Anu Emmanuel
Director: Rakesh Sashii
Producer: Dheeraj Mogilineni
Music: Anup Rubens, Achu Rajamani

Allu Sirish has been eyeing a comeback and his latest movie Urvashivo Rakshasivo was released today. The teaser and trailer look fun. Let us see how the movie is.

Story:

Sree (Allu Sirish) and Sindhu (Anu Emmanuel) work in the same IT Company. They have an attraction toward each other and soon jump into passionate romance and sex. Sree comes from a middle-class family and he loves Sindhu and immediately proposes to her. Sindhu who is raised in the US rejects it.

How their relationship takes turns is the rest of the story. Will it end up as a casual relationship or will they become one?

Performances:

Allu Sirish plays a simple guy. He is suited as a middle-class guy who lives in his own zone. He plays the role well albeit we get a feeling that he could improve in emotional scenes.

Anu Emmanuel is superb in the role of Sindhu. She looks beautiful on-screen and looked apt in a modern, trendy girl. She is the perfect cast for this role.

Sunil and Vennela Kishore took care of the majority comedy in the movie and they look okay. Posani Krishna Murali, Aamani, and Kedar Shankar are apt for their roles. The rest of the cast is just okay.

Technicalities:

Achu Rajamani and Anup Rubens composed songs for the movie. They are not remarkable yet they are not bad either. The BGM work is just about okay. The Cinematography gives a rich look to the movie. The production values are good. Editing is fine.

Writing though the routine is okay. The screenplay works in parts. Rakesh Sashi has done well to show the contemporary thoughts of the youth in this film. However, the lack of depth in the writing haunts the taking.

Analysis:

Overall, Urvashivo Rakshasivo gives us mixed feelings. There is good and bad about it. The humor works in parts. The emotional drama doesn’t work to the full extent. Anu Emmanuel is the main attraction of this film. If you have nothing to do this weekend, keep your expectations in check and watch it.
