Ranga Ranga Vaibhavanga Movie Review – Not so grand

Cast: Vaisshnav Tej, Ketika Sharma
Director: Gireeshayya
Producer: BVSN Prasad
Music Director: Devi Sri Prasad

Vaisshnav Tej after a successful attempt in Uppena has scored a big flop with Konda Polam. Now, the actor is trying his luck with Ranga Ranga Vaibhavanga, said to be a cool breeze romantic entertainer. Let us see how the movie is.

Story:
Rishi (Vaisshnav Tej) and Radha (Ketika Sharma) are childhood buddies but egos creep between each other. Though they have liking towards each other, they are not on talking terms due to ego.

How does this ego create a rift between the two families, who have been closely attached for many years? What happens next? is the crux of the story.

Performances:
Vaisshnav Tej and Ketika Sharma looked good onscreen. Their chemistry is decent as well. Vaisshnav Tej is okay in his performance. He can improve in emotional sequences and dances though. Ketika Sharma on the other side is adorable. It is good to see her in a traditional and bubbly character. She is alright.

Naveen Chandra is decent in his role. However, his characterization is designed properly. Even Subbaraju’s character has got issues. Naresh, Prabhu, Pragathi, Tulasi and other senior artists have bits and pieces of characters and they are okay. Ali and Satya took care of the comedy in either half.

Technicalities:
It is a better output from Devi Sri Prasad. His songs provide major relief in a routine affair. A few songs engage us. However, his BGM is not any kind of extraordinary thing.

Shamdat’s cinematography work should be commended. He did a fair job. Editing is fine. The production values are okay though. The writing is quite ordinary. We will get mediocre feels. Though Gireeshayya tried a fresh treatment in the first half, the major issue lies in the second half where the major story takes place. He fumbled here.

Analysis:
Overall, Ranga Ranga Vaibhavanga is a routine affair with mediocre treatment. There are bits and pieces of entertainment. The first half is passable but the second half is routine to the core. One can watch this film if you have nothing to do this weekend.
