Director: Ashwath Marimuthu

Vishwak Sen is back with the film Ori Devuda. This is a remake of the successful film Oh My Kadavule. Venkatesh will be seen in a cameo. Let us see how the movie is.

Story:
Ori Devuda is all about what happens when we get a second chance in our lives. Arjun Durgaraj (Vishwak Sen) and Anu Paulraj (Mithila Palkar) are childhood friends. Anu proposes to Arjun and they get married. However, after an year problems creep up between the couple and they file for divorce.

At the same time, God (Venkatesh) appears and gives Arjun a second chance to set things straight. Will Arjun be successful in it? Will Anu and Arjun patch up yet again?

Performances:
Vishwak Sen is turning out to be a versatile actor. After Ashoka Vanamlo Arjuna Kalyanam, this is another shade of Vishwak Sen and he has given his best. He is good at subtle acting and best at emotional sequences. This is a good movie for him as an actor.

Venkatesh is entertaining in the role of God. The scenes involving him, Rahul Ramakrishna, and Vishwak Sen worked out really well.  Mithila Parkar is good in her female lead role. Her chemistry with Vishwak Sen is nice.

The rest of the cast is okay as well.

Technicalities:
Leon James has given beautiful tunes for the movie and the background music is decent as well. The cinematography is alright. The editing is neat but a few lag portions could be chopped as well. The production values are superb.

Aswath Marimuthu who directed the original has worked out the remake really well. He approached light-hearted narration throughout the movie and it is one of the plus points of the flick. However, he took time to get into the proceedings. Once it is on track, Ori Devuda is enjoyable. The climax portions are good as well.

Analysis:
Ori Devuda is a breezy rom-com with fantasy elements attached to it. The first half is neat but slow. The interval episode gets interesting and the entire second half is a huge plus albeit the complaints of a few lag sequences. The movie gets on track in the climax portion. Overall, it will be a decent one-time watch.

Ori Devuda: Enjoyable fantasy rom-com
Rating: 3/5
