Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja has faced two flops this year and is keen to make a comeback with Dhamaka. The promos promise that there will be an energetic Ravi Teja to entertain us. Has that happened? Check out the review.
Story:
Dhamaka is all about corporate politics. A crooked businessman (Jayaram) wants to grab the business empire that belongs to a rich guy (Ravi Teja). However, things turned interesting with a middle-class guy (Ravi Teja) comes into the picture.
What’s the connection between the twins? How does the middle-class guy clear the mess??
Performances:
As shown in the promos, Ravi Teja is at his energetic best. He does his best job in the dual roles. He once again proves that if given an energetic role he will entertain the audience. There is never a dull moment when he is onscreen.
Sree Leela plays the female lead of the project. She has got a limited role but does her best in the chance she got. Sree Leela is superb in the mass songs. Jayaram does a decent job. Hyper Aadi and Rao Ramesh took care of the comedy department. The others are just fine.
Technicalities:
There is nothing special in the story provided by Bezawada Prasanna Kumar. He dished out a routine commercial entertainer. The screenplay is pacy though. It has a few ups and downs but Ravi Teja covered it up with his energetic performance. Trinadha Rao Nakkina does a decent job as a director.
Bheems music is one of the highlights. The songs are good and the BGM is passable though sometimes loud. The cinematography is cool. The editing is decent. The production values are nice though.
Analysis:
Dhamaka as projected is nothing new. It is tried and tested formula once again projected with Ravi Teja at his energetic best. Take Ravi Teja out of the subject and one cannot bear it one bit. Ravi Teja engages the audience with his funny antics and energetic performance.
While the first half is decent, the pre-interval is the main highlight of the movie. The second half however bogs down and the climax part is the weakest of the lot. If routine commercial entertainers are not a problem, you can happily watch it for one time.
Rating: 2.75
