Amaravati: In a major legal relief to Andhra Pradesh former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Supreme Court has dismissed the petition filed by TDP leader Raghuram Krishnaraju, which sought the cancellation of Jagan’s bail. The apex court today ruled that there was no need for a special hearing on the petition, noting that the Telangana High Court is already handling the case related to alleged disproportionate assets against Jagan.

The bench, consisting of Justice Nagarathna and Justice Satish Chandra Mishra, observed that the case against Jagan, involving the charge of illicit wealth, is already being reviewed by the Telangana High Court. The court further emphasized that there was no need to transfer the case to another state and recommended that the trial court should conduct daily hearings, with the High Court supervising the proceedings.
In light of this decision, Raghuram’s lawyer sought permission to withdraw the petition, which was granted by the bench. The Supreme Court’s decision provides significant relief to Jagan, who continues to face legal battles but remains unaffected by the calls for his bail revocation.
This development has major political ramifications, offering a boost to Jagan’s standing as the case moves through the legal process.
