Elections for the seven MLA quota MLC seats were completed successfully today. YSRCP has fielded seven MLC candidates and with the strength, they have it is obvious that they will be getting the desired result. Still, surprisingly Telugu Desam Party fielded an MLC candidate and gave a shock to the ruling party.
For an MLC candidate to win, 22 MLAs should vote for him. Currently, TDP has a strength of 21 MLAs and it turned interesting to whether any YSRCP candidate will cross-vote. They have been given clear instructions.
Whatever the result, the elections have now been completed quite successfully. 174 MLAs voted for the 175 MLAs by the morning. However, an MLA named Appala Naidu attended his son’s wedding and came late to the voting. It is said that YSRCP arranged a special flight for him.
Appala Naidu cast his vote at around 2 PM which completed the elections.
