State Election Commission has rejected the plea of Telugu Desam Party general secretary Nara Lokesh. His Yuvagalam padayatra is currently at Annamayya district Kantevari Palli village. Nara Lokesh requested the election commission to stay in the village during these two days as his padayatra is progressing through the district. The election code in the district due to the MLC elections is the reason behind the break.

Nara Lokesh reminded the election commission that during Chandrababu’s 2013 padayatra Vastunna Meekosam, he was exempted from the election code. However, State Election Commission stated that the matter will be taken to the Central Election Commission.

In order to respect the constitution, Nara Lokesh has left Kantevari Palli. He reached Tirupathi by road and left for Hyderabad. He will be staying in Hyderabad for two days and the padayatra will resume on the 14th of this month from where he left.

To date, Nara Lokesh has completed 529.1 kilometers of padayatra.
