All three candidates of the BRS party who were fielded for the Telangana Council were elected unopposed. Deshapati Srinivas, K. Naveen Kumar, and Challa Venkatrami Reddy were the candidates from the BRS party and were now elected to the Legislative Council under the MLA quota.

No other candidate has contested the elections. Thursday was the last day for the elections. An independent candidate had filed the nomination but it was rejected by the election commission. As there was no opposition, the three candidates were declared elected without contest by the returning officer.

While it was the second time for Naveen Kumar, for the other two, it was the first time being elected to the legislative council. Poet and singer Srinivas was earlier serving as Officer on Special Duty in the Chief Minister’s Office. Venkatrami Reddy is a former MLA from the Alampur constituency.
