Hyderabad: Backward Classes Welfare and Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar has directed officials to ensure smooth arrangements for Maha Shivaratri and Ramzan celebrations in Telangana. At separate review meetings with the Telangana Road Transport Corporation (TGRTC) and other departments, he emphasized the need for essential facilities for devotees and the fasting community.

For Maha Shivaratri, special RTC bus services will be deployed for pilgrims traveling to major temples, including Vemulawada, Srisailam, Edupayala, Keesara, and Palakurthi.

Regarding Ramzan preparations, officials assured that streetlights and temporary lighting will be installed near mosques, and roads leading to Mecca Masjid, Royal Mosque, and Mir Alam Idgah will be repaired. GHMC’s entomology team has begun fogging operations to control mosquito breeding, while the water board will provide water packets and special tankers near mosques.

Electricity officials confirmed that mobile transformers and 24/7 emergency staff will be on standby. Milk supplies will be ensured during Ramzan, and Muslim employees have been permitted to leave work by 4 PM. Authorities also assured smooth traffic management and extended street vendor operating hours until midnight.
