Telangana Finance Minister Harish Rao presented a tax-free budget in the assembly today with an expenditure of Rs 2.90 lakh crore for 2023-24. The last year’s budget rounded up to Rs 2.56 lakh crore last year.
This is the last budget from the KCR-led government as the elections are scheduled to happen later this year. Finance Minister in his budget speech allocated Rs 17,700 crore is proposed for the Dalit Bandhu scheme. Throughout the budget, Harish Rao pointed out the center’s negligence toward the state.
The KCR government proposed Rs. 26,381 Crores to the Agriculture department. Harish Rao said that the government is giving utmost importance to Healthcare. He said that the state occupies first place in the country with 19 MBBS seats/1 lakh population.
The State Finance Minister added the Per capita income of Telangana is estimated to increase from Rs 1,12,162 in 2013-14 to Rs 3,17,115 in 2022-23.
