The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) alleged a massive Rs. 221 Cr scam in the purchase of tablets distributed to schoolchildren on Wednesday by Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy. According to the opposition party, the ruling party did a massive scam in the purchase of the tabs to distribute to the students.
TDP spokesperson K. Pattabhiram accused the YS Jagan’s govt pocketed Rs. 221 Crores. He said that the 5,18,740 A7 Lite Samsung Galaxy tablet with 8.7 inches screen size is being sold on retailing platforms like Amazon for Rs. 11,999 but the YSRCP government has purchased each tab for ₹13,262.
Pattabhiram stated that when bought in bulk, each tab could be purchased for Rs. 9,000. With this, Pattabhiram has accused YS Jagan of Rs. 221 Cr scam in the total purchase program.
