Yadadri: Tensions gripped Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple on December 29 after two separate incidents disrupted the day’s proceedings.
In the first incident, a seven-year-old boy, Dayakar, from Boduppal, got his head stuck in the grills of the Rs. 150 darshan queue line while visiting the temple with his parents. Devotees promptly alerted temple staff and security, who took 45 minutes to carefully rescue the boy without any injuries. The incident caused temporary panic among the devotees, but relief followed as the boy was safely freed.

In a separate occurrence, a bus and a car were involved in a head-on collision on the ghat road leading to the temple. A TGRTC bus descending towards the bus stand collided with a car from Hyderabad heading uphill. While the car sustained severe front-end damage, temple authorities confirmed that no injuries were reported.
Currently, only one ghat road is operational for two-way traffic, leading to congestion during peak times. Devotees have urged the temple management to reopen the second ghat road for smoother traffic flow, but no action has been taken.
Adding to the controversies, Executive Officer Bhaskar Rao violated temple protocol by wearing a t-shirt and track pants, breaching the mandatory traditional dress code for devotees performing ‘Arjitha’ sevas. Devotees criticized the casual attire as disrespectful to temple rules.
