Warangal: Claiming that the development of Warangal would equate to the progress of 50% of Telangana, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy pledged yesterday to transform Warangal into a city on par with Greater Hyderabad. Addressing a public gathering in Warangal as part of the Praja Vijayotsavalu, coinciding with the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, CM Revanth asserted his government’s commitment to Warangal’s development.

“The government has allocated Rs 6,000 crore for the development of Warangal. This is not just for two constituencies but for the entire northern Telangana region,” CM Revanth stated, highlighting Warangal’s strategic importance. He added that the district’s growth would positively impact the entire state.

Revanth Reddy also accused the previous BRS government of neglecting Warangal for a decade, describing it as a betrayal of the city’s potential. In a veiled reference to the recent Lagacherla violence, he alleged that the BRS party was resorting to conspiracies and hired goons to derail Telangana’s progress.

North Telangana, comprising districts such as Adilabad, Karimnagar, and Khammam, is expected to benefit from the ambitious Warangal development plans, solidifying its role as a key driver of the state’s economy and infrastructure.
