Visakhapatnam: The much-awaited Visakhapatnam metro project is set to take a significant leap forward, with the state government approving the Detailed Project Report (DPR). Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu announced that the DPR will be sent to Delhi for further processing, marking a pivotal step in the project’s execution.
Speaking at the DeepTech Innovation Conclave-2024, organized by the Global Forum for Sustainable Transformation, CM Chandrababu Naidu highlighted Visakhapatnam’s development as a top priority. He assured that the city would witness advancements across various sectors, highlighting its special place in the state’s growth agenda.
“The people of Visakhapatnam have shown immense support for the TDP and NDA, and we are committed to their welfare,” Chandrababu Naidu stated.

The Chief Minister reiterated his commitment to safeguarding the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant from privatization. Additionally, he outlined transformative projects such as the Bhogapuram International Greenfield Airport, metro rail, and beach development, forming the foundation of a comprehensive Visakhapatnam Vision Document.
Chandrababu Naidu also highlighted the importance of skill development, green energy adoption, and population management. “Platforms will be created to make technology accessible to everyone,” he asserted, transitioning the government’s earlier initiative, “One Family, One IT Professional,” to the new goal of “One Family, One Entrepreneur.”
