Visakhapatnam: Tourist attraction Kailasagiri Hill is set for a major transformation as the Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Region Development Authority (VMRDA) announces a trio of adventure activities and luxury developments to boost tourism. Key attractions include a zipline, a skycycling facility, and a glass skywalk bridge.
Trial runs for the zipline and skywalk have already begun, and the facilities are expected to launch in the coming weeks. The glass skywalk bridge will follow, with completion slated within six months.

Developed under a public-private partnership (PPP) model at an estimated cost of Rs 5 crore, the project aims to attract visitors and extend their stay at the scenic hilltop.
VMRDA is also planning nature cottages, a revolving restaurant, and a beach-view café. The Rs 18 crore initiative will feature 20 nature cottages, an infinity pool, a meeting hall, and extensive landscaping. A 100-seat revolving fine-dining restaurant and a 60-seat beach-view café are also planned, promising a unique experience for tourists.
Kailasagiri Hill, once a top destination, faced setbacks after Cyclone Hudhud in 2014. Despite proposals for significant upgrades in 2019-20, many were left incomplete. With these new projects, VMRDA aims to restore Kailasagiri to its former glory as a premier tourist hotspot.
