Amaravati: Justice Venkata Jyothirmayi Prathap and Justice Venuturumalli Gopalakrishna Rao have been sworn in as permanent judges of the Andhra Pradesh High Court. The oath ceremony was conducted by the Chief Justice of the High Court, Justice Dhiraj Singh Thakur. Both justices were previously serving as additional judges.
Their appointments as permanent judges were recommended by the Supreme Court Collegium on August 13 and were recently approved by President Droupadi Murmu.
Justice Venkata Jyothirmayi Prathap hails from Tenali in Guntur district. She completed her law degree from Acharya Nagarjuna University and began her career as a district judge in 2008. She has served in various courts, including the CBI Court and as Principal District Judge in Visakhapatnam, Prakasam, and East Godavari districts.
Justice Venuturumalli Gopalakrishna Rao is from Challapalli in Krishna district. He started his career as a Junior Civil Judge in 1994 and was promoted to Senior Civil Judge in 2007. He has served in Srikakulam and Tirupati as an additional district judge before being elevated to the High Court.
