Hyderabad: The Telangana Employees’ Joint Action Committee (TGEJAC) expressed frustration with the state government over unresolved salary and allowance issues, leading them to consider taking the path of protest.
In a meeting held at the TNGO central office on October 22, which included representatives from 206 employee, teacher, pensioner, and worker associations, TGEJAC leadership criticized the government’s inaction on long-pending demands.
Chairman M. Jagadishwar and General Secretary E. Srinivas Rao addressed the media after the meeting, highlighting the unprecedented delay in clearing five pending Dearness Allowances (DAs). Jagadishwar stated that it was the first time in history that such delays had occurred, and they were yet to receive even their own General Provident Fund (GPF) savings. Despite repeated appeals to the Chief Secretary, no meaningful dialogue had taken place.
The union had hoped for the release of two DAs by Dussehra but is now looking to Diwali with renewed expectations. They also voiced concerns over the lack of respect for employee associations since the formation of Telangana.
The leaders urged the government to address their issues in the upcoming cabinet meeting on the 26th and expressed hope that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy would take swift action to fulfill the promises made during the elections.
