In a surprising move, Poonam Kaur has joined Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra that is currently happening in Dharmapur, Mahabubnagar district. It comes as a surprise as Poonam Kaur associated herself with Telugu Desam Party. In 2017, she was appointed as an ambassador for state handlooms by the then-Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu.
Later, she was seen interacting with the BJP leaders as well. It is said that Poonam Kaur explained the problems of handloom workers to Rahul Gandhi.
The latter has promised to waive the GST on handloom products once he comes to power. The Bharat Jodo Yatra started on September 7th, 2022, and will continue for 150 days.
