Hyderabad: The city is awakening to chilly mornings as temperatures continue to dip. Yesterday, the coldest spot in Hyderabad was near BHEL, recording a low of 11.7°C, closely followed by Rajendranagar at 11.8°C. West Marredpally registered 13.5°C, while most parts of the city experienced early morning temperatures ranging between 15°C and 23°C.

Across Telangana, Bela in Adilabad was the coldest at 9.2°C, while Sangareddy and Vikarabad recorded 9.8°C each. Other districts, including Kumuram Bheem (10.6°C), Nirmal (10.7°C), and Karimnagar (11°C), also witnessed the lowest temperatures. Hyderabad’s average minimum temperature stood at 15.9°C, but neighboring districts like Rangareddy (10.4°C) and Medchal-Malkajgiri (12.3°C) were even colder.

Southern Telangana remained comparatively warmer, with Mahabubnagar registering 13.2°C and Jogulamba Gadwal at 15.5°C. Khammam and Suryapet were among the warmest districts, recording 16°C and 16.3°C, respectively.

“Temperatures across Telangana have steadily dropped over the past week. The cold spell is expected to peak in the next two to three days before temperatures gradually rise due to Cyclone Fengal,” said weather expert T. Balaji.

Citizens are advised to prepare for colder mornings, with the chill expected to persist before easing later in the week.
