On July 29, Congress’ Andhra Pradesh president YS Sharmila launched a scathing attack on her brother, YSR Congress Party President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, blaming his arrogance for his political downfall. Responding to allegations of being a TDP agent for urging Jagan to attend the Assembly and confront Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, Sharmila retorted on X, calling her brother’s actions “stupid” and accusing him of being fixated on Chandrababu Naidu.
Sharmila asserted her right to criticize wrongdoings irrespective of party lines. She condemned Jagan’s absence from the Assembly and his failure to respect the legislature, demanding his resignation. Sharmila also warned against the demolition of YSR’s statues, vowing to stage protests if necessary.
Accusing Jagan of betraying farmers, Sharmila highlighted his unfulfilled promises, including a price stabilization fund and crop loss compensation. She criticized his dismantling of the YSR Jalayagnam program and his failure to enforce prohibition. Additionally, she condemned his alleged ties with the BJP, accusing him of compromising state interests.
