Amaravati: The Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA), chaired by CM N Chandrababu Naidu, has approved Rs 24,276 crore for Amaravati’s infrastructure development. Municipal Minister P Narayana announced this decision during the 43rd APCRDA meeting today.

The approved projects include trunk roads, layouts, and iconic buildings, aiming to establish Amaravati as a world-class city. Narayana highlighted that a total of Rs 45,249 crore had been sanctioned in previous meetings. Key developments include:
- Assembly building: Spread over 11.2 lakh sq. ft. on 103 acres, standing 250 metres tall, offering visitors a panoramic city view when not in session.
- High Court building: A 42-acre complex with 20.32 lakh sq. ft. of built-up area, 55 metres tall, at a cost of Rs 1,048 crore.
- General Administration Department (GAD) building: 47 floors, covering 17 lakh sq. ft.
- Five additional towers: Costing Rs 4,688 crore, covering 69 lakh sq. ft.
- Road development: Rs 9,699 crore for four major roads (580 km), Rs 7,794 crore for trunk roads and utilities.
The tender process begins December 23, with completion targeted in three years. Narayana reaffirmed the commitment to making Amaravati one of the world’s top five cities.
