Amaravati: The Andhra Pradesh government has announced the formation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe alleged liquor scams that took place during the previous administration.
The government has officially issued orders to establish the SIT, which will be led by Vijayawada Police Commissioner Rajasekhar Babu, along with seven senior police officers. The decision has generated significant interest, given the large-scale allegations of financial irregularities in liquor sales.

Reports suggest that thousands of crores were involved in illicit cash transactions related to liquor sales under the previous government. Additionally, allegations have surfaced regarding the misuse of holograms used for authentication, raising concerns over large-scale fraud.
With these suspicions in mind, the AP government has directed the SIT to conduct a swift and thorough investigation and submit its findings to the Director General of CID. The report is expected to shed light on financial mismanagement and potential corruption in the liquor trade.
This move marks a crucial step by the state government in ensuring transparency and accountability in governance while also setting the stage for legal actions against those involved in the alleged irregularities.
