Andhra Pradesh Assembly Deputy Speaker Kona Raghupathi has resigned from his post. He submitted his resignation to Thammineni Veerabhadram and the latter accepted his resignation. It is expected that the new deputy assembly speaker will be elected on Monday.

Kona Raghupathi won as the MLA from the Bapatla constituency on the YSRCP ticket. He was elected deputy speaker unanimously on June 19, 2019. The sources revealed that the resignation of Kona Raghupathi came after Chief Minister YS Jagan has asked him to do so.

Due to the social justice, CM is firm on, he is making several changes to the cabinet. It is speculated that Vizianagaram MLA Kolagatla Veerabhadraswamy might become the next deputy speaker of the assembly. More clarity is expected in the coming days.
