In Andhra Pradesh, the much anticipated launch of Anna Canteens is set to take place on August 15, fulfilling a key electoral promise by the ruling government. The first phase will see the inauguration of 100 Anna Canteens across the state, with preparations already completed.

Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu will officially inaugurate the first Anna Canteen in Gudivada town, Krishna district, marking the beginning of this important welfare initiative.

The menu for the food served at these canteens has also been finalized. For breakfast, options will include idli with chutney, podi, or sambar, or puri with kurma. The menu will vary slightly each day, offering alternatives like upma, pongal, or a mixture of these items. Lunch and dinner will consist of white rice, a vegetable curry, dal or sambar, curd, and pickle. The vegetable curry will change daily to provide variety.
