Amaravati: The Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) has approved Rs 11,467 crore for the first phase of construction in Amaravati. This includes key projects such as roads, drainage systems, and residential buildings. The decision was taken during the 41st CRDA authority meeting chaired by Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu at his residence in Undavalli yesterday evening.

The plans include completing pending road construction worth Rs 2,498 crore and Rs 1,585 crore allocated for developing Palavagu, Kondaveeti Vagu, and gravitational canals, along with constructing three reservoirs. The CRDA will also spend Rs 3,525 crore to complete residential quarters for All India Service officers, gazetted and non-gazetted officers, and fourth-class employees. Additionally, Rs 3,859 crore will be used to develop layouts allocated to farmers who contributed land under the Land Pooling Scheme (LPS).

Revised tenders will be floated for all projects, including the Rs 984.10 crore HappyNest residential project. Infrastructure development in LPS zones will include international-standard roads, underground utilities, and cycling tracks. Several road projects, totaling Rs 1,585 crore, will focus on flood management and green initiatives.

Funding will primarily come from the World Bank and Asian Development Bank, with tenders for major projects expected in the coming weeks.
