Visakhapatnam: Global tech giant Google has partnered with the Andhra Pradesh government to explore transformative opportunities in artificial intelligence (AI) in Visakhapatnam. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu made the announcement on December 11 during a district collectors’ conference at the state secretariat.
The collaboration, formalized through an MoU signed during IT Minister Nara Lokesh’s recent visit to the United States, aims to position Visakhapatnam as a global hub for AI and advanced technologies. “Google’s investment in Visakhapatnam under strategic initiatives will be a game changer,” Chandrababu Naidu stated.

The partnership will focus on establishing data centers, advancing AI, machine learning (ML), deep technology, and enhancing internet connectivity through undersea cables. Google executives have already conducted a survey of Visakhapatnam, expressing confidence in the city’s potential to host such large-scale projects.
Chandrababu Naidu highlighted that these initiatives would enhance Visakhapatnam’s strategic importance, create new employment opportunities, and accelerate the city’s transformation into a global service hub. The Chief Minister also credited the state’s progressive industrial policies for creating a conducive environment for international investments.
Later, Chandrababu Naidu met with a Google delegation led by Vice President Bikash Koley in Amaravati to discuss operational plans. He highlighted the collaboration’s role in advancing India’s digital ecosystem while empowering Andhra Pradesh.
