Former President of the Congress party Sonia Gandhi has been admitted to Sir Ganga Ram hospital in New Delhi. She got a viral respiratory infection and is being treated currently. Sonia Gandhi is said to be doing fine, her condition is stable and the hospital authorities have released a health bulletin as well.

Sonia Gandhi is currently at the Chest Medicine Unit of the Ganga Ram Hospital for observation and treatment. Dr. Ajay Swaroop, chairman of the hospitals stated that “Mrs. Sonia Gandhi, Chairperson, UPA has been admitted to our hospital today. She has been admitted to the Department of Chest Medicine under the care of Dr. Arup Basu and his team. Mrs. Gandhi has been admitted for observation and treatment of a viral respiratory infection.”

Sonia Gandhi complained of unwellness on Tuesday evening and that was why Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra returned to Delhi after walking 7 KM on Bharat Jodo Yatra which entered Uttar Pradesh. While Priyanka Gandhi Vadra stayed back, Rahul Gandhi continued his yatra today at 6 AM.
