Rahul Gandhi who has been successfully continuing the Bharat Jodo Yatra has found himself in legal soup. Today the Bengaluru Police booked a case against Rahul Gandhi and Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh, Congress social media head Supriya Srinate.
The FIR was filed on charges of Copyright infringement by using KGF movie songs without taking any permission. MRT Music owns the rights to the music of the film and they approached Bengaluru Police after the movie’s songs are used for the promotional material of Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra.
The company issued a Press Release in which they complained against the Congress Party for using the songs without taking any sort of permission. The Yeshwantpur police have registered an FIR under the Information Technology Act, 2000, and the Copyrights Act, 1957 in addition to the relevant sections of IPC.
