Pithapuram: Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan visited flood-affected areas in Gollaprolu, Pithapuram constituency, on September 9. He toured the flooded Jagananna Colony in a boat and spoke with the victims, offering them reassurance. Walking barefoot through the mud, Pawan Kalyan listened to the people’s problems and promised to work on solutions.

Speaking to the media, Pawan Kalyan said that the flood issues have been troubling the state for decades due to the misuse of agricultural land and water resources. He requested Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu to form a committee to study these issues and submit a detailed report.
Pawan Kalyan criticized the previous YSRCP government for poor planning and alleged corruption in land allocation. He mentioned that Jagananna Colony was built on low-lying land, leading to flooding problems. He also proposed renaming the colonies after national leaders or local heroes like the Raja of Pithapuram, based on the wishes of the people.
