It is very well known that Nitish Kumar severed ties with BJP the other day and resigned as the Chief Minister. He met Governor Phagu Chauhan yesterday and submitted his resignation. Today he proved his strength in front of the Governor with the support of Mahagathbandhan (RJD, Congress, and Left) to form the government.

Nitish Kumar was sworn in today as the Chief Minister of Bihar. The swearing-in ceremony took place in the Raj Bhavan in Patna. This is the 8th time that Nitish Kumar became the Chief Minister. RJD leader Tejaswi Yadav took the oath as the Deputy Chief Minister. It is said that the cabinet expansion might happen on August 15th.

Nitish Kumar had left Mahagathbandhan in July 2017 and teamed up with the NDA alliance. Now, he left the NDA alliance and is back to the Mahagathbandhan.

BJP MP Sushil Modi came down heavily on Nitish Kumar for leaving the BJP midway. “It is the second time that Nitish Kumar betrayed us. We made him CM five times but he betrayed us,” said Sushil to the press.
