Mangalagiri: Nara Lokesh has initiated a modern and comfortable workspace for weavers in Mangalagiri’s Autonagar, aiming to revolutionize the handloom industry. He envisioned a corporate-style environment with spacious premises, advanced looms, and facilities like dining areas, restrooms, and quality inspection rooms. Weavers can work comfortably, seated in chairs with ample air and light.

To ensure the best setup, Lokesh sent a team of seven experienced members to Chennai and Coimbatore to study Tata Group’s ‘Taneira’ weaving centers and other handloom practices. Based on their report, he personally funded the establishment of a ‘Weavers Hall’ with 20 advanced Jacquard looms. The weavers are receiving two months of training on these looms, providing them with new employment opportunities.
Nara Lokesh plans to expand this initiative across the state, aiming to bring revolutionary changes to the handloom sector.
