Amaravati: Megabrother Nagababu’s political path seems to be taking a new turn, with speculations that he might not be inducted into the Andhra Pradesh cabinet as previously announced. A few months ago, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu assured that Nagababu would be given a ministerial position. However, no concrete steps have been taken yet, leading to fresh political discussions.
According to political sources, instead of a cabinet berth, the ruling alliance is now considering offering Nagababu a Rajya Sabha seat. This shift in strategy is reportedly influenced by evolving political equations and coalition dynamics.
Nagababu’s Contribution to the Alliance
Nagababu played a crucial role in ensuring coordination between the TDP-Jana Sena-BJP alliance. Despite hoping to contest as an MP from Anakapalli, the seat was allocated to BJP, forcing him to step back. Given his sacrifice and efforts, it was widely speculated that he would be given a significant role in governance.
Rajya Sabha Opportunity
With the recent resignation of YSRCP leader Vijayasai Reddy, a Rajya Sabha seat has become vacant. Sources indicate that the alliance is now keen on nominating Nagababu for the position, allowing him to serve as an MP for three and a half years. This move could also help him play a key role in national politics under Jana Sena’s banner.
While many expected Nagababu to become a minister, political equations now hint at a different direction. An official confirmation on his new role is awaited.
