Washington, DC: As the US presidential elections approach in November, Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris participated in the ‘Unite for America’ live-streamed event alongside renowned host Oprah Winfrey. During the event, held in Farmington Halls, Michigan, Harris made remarks about gun culture in America.

Jokingly, Kamala Harris mentioned, “If someone breaks into my house, I’ll shoot them,” but quickly corrected herself, saying her staff would handle such situations. She then spoke seriously about gun control, stating that she has long supported stricter measures, including background checks and banning assault weapons.
Kamala Harris highlighted that she is in favor of the Second Amendment but advocates for responsible gun ownership. She also clarified that neither she nor her running mate, Tim Walz, intends to take guns away from law-abiding citizens.
Kamala Harris has previously admitted to owning a gun for personal protection and is skilled in shooting.
