Former Telugu Desam Party Minister Kalva Srinivasulu has been put under house arrest by the Andhra Pradesh police. He was kept under house arrest in Rayadurgam town of Anantapur district. The decision was taken as Srinivasulu attempted to hold Padayatra against the illegal sand mining in the town.
A large number of Police reached Srinivasulu’s house today morning to stop him from starting the Padayatra. Kalva Srinivasulu tried to escape the house from the backdoor and reached the road. However, the Police identified the movement and blocked his way.
Srinivasulu with this act condemned the police for stopping his protest. “They can’t stop the illegal sand mining but will stop me,” he criticized.
AP Police have also arrested several TDP leaders and the party Mandal activists who extended their support to the Kalva Srinivasulu.
