After the cancellation of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi‘s Lok Sabha membership, the party entered the fray with full force on Sunday. Congress did ‘Sankalp Satyagraha’ across the country and put Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP in the dock. The Congress accused the BJP of ‘defaming Rahul and the Gandhi family’.

Party President Mallikarjun Kharge, Leader of the Party in Lok Sabha Adhir Ranjan Chowdhary, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlaut, P Chidambaram, Jairam Ramesh, Salman Khurshid, Pramod Tiwari, Mukul Wasnik and other leaders participated in the ‘Sankalp Satyagraha’ against the cancellation of Rahul Gandhi’s Lok Sabha membership. All the big leaders including Wasnik gathered at Rajghat.

Among the Congress leaders gathered at Delhi’s Raj Ghat, the sharpest attitude was seen by Congress General Secretary and Rahul Gandhi’s sister Priyanka Gandhi.

While defending her brother and family, she launched a scathing attack on PM Narendra Modi and the BJP. Priyanka Gandhi also raised many questions.

Priyanka Gandhi said, “My father was insulted in Parliament. My brother was given a name like Mir Jafar. Your ministers insulted my mother in Parliament. One of your CMs said that Rahul Gandhi doesn’t know who his father is. But no action has been taken against such people. No case is filed against them, your and their membership is not cancelled.”

She also said, “BJP people talk about ‘family politics’. I want to ask who was Lord Ram. Was he a ‘parivarvadi’ or the Pandavas were parivarvadis. They should be called parivarvadis only because they respected the culture of their families. My family has fed the democracy of this country with blood.”

She said, “Rahul Gandhi studied at two of the world’s most prestigious institutions, Harvard and Cambridge, but those people started calling him ‘Pappu’. But later they came to know that Rahul is not Pappu. He is honest and understands the issues related to common people.”

Priyanka defended Rahul and said, “My brother went to PM Modi in Parliament and hugged him and said that he does not hate the PM. Our ideology may be different but we do not harbor hatred.”
