Visakhapatnam: The city is on the brink of transformative development as Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu announced an ambitious Rs 4 lakh crore investment plan during his two-day visit on December 5, 2024.
Addressing the Global Forum for Sustainable Transformation (GFS) conference, the Chief Minister revealed major projects, including a Google Cloud Data Center, NTPC Green Hydrogen Hub, and the Accor-Mittal Steel Plant in Anakapalle district. These projects are expected to commence within six months and significantly reshape Visakhapatnam within two years.

Highlighting the state’s commitment to innovation and sustainability, IT and HRD Minister Nara Lokesh played a crucial role in attracting the Google Cloud Data Center investment. During his US visit last month, Lokesh engaged with Google executives, showcasing Andhra Pradesh’s innovation-friendly ecosystem. Discussions emphasized e-governance, smart city integration, and AI-based training programs.
The Google Cloud Data Center is poised to become a game-changer for Visakhapatnam’s IT sector, underscoring the state’s push for technological progress. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the project is slated to be signed on December 11, marking a pivotal moment in Andhra Pradesh’s development journey.
These investments signify Visakhapatnam’s emergence as a hub for technological and industrial innovation.
