Bharat Rashtra Samithi has announced three candidates for the upcoming Telangana Legislative Council elections under the MLA quota. BRS President and Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao announced that Deshapati Srinivas, K. Naveen Kumar, and Challa Venkatrami Reddy are the candidates for the upcoming state Legislative Council Polls.
Naveen Kumar has been fielded for another term by BRS while Deshapati Srinivas and Challa Venkatrami Reddy are contesting for the MLC position for the first time. Venkatrami Reddy is a former MLA from the Alampur constituency while Deshapati Srinivas is a poet and singer who is currently serving as Officer on Special Duty in the Chief Minister’s Office.
KCR has directed the three candidates to file their nominations on March 9th. The names of the two other candidates that are to be nominated by the Governor will be announced after the cabinet meeting scheduled on March 9. The elections will take place on March 23rd.
