Anjani Kumar who is currently serving as Director General of the Anti-Corruption Bureau has been appointed as the new Director general of police (DGP), Telangana. He will be replacing the present DGP M Mahendar Reddy who is going to retire on December 31st. However, the new orders by the Telangana government state that the position will be held by Anjani Kumar till the government appoints a full-time DGP. Anjani Kumar is 1990-batch IPS officer.
Another 1990-batch IPS officer, Ravi Gupta who is presently Principal Secretary (home) will replace Anjani Kumar as the DGP of ACB. He was also given the responsibility of DG (vigilance and enforcement). 1992 batch cadre officer Dr Jitendar has been transferred from the position of Additional Director General of Police (Law &Order) to Principal Secretary to Government, Home.
Mahesh Muralidhar Bhagwat, the current Commissioner of Police, Rachakonda Commissionerate was transferred to Additional Director General of Police, CID, Telangana.
