Sanjeeva Narasimha is showing his Telugu fame in Mauritius. In recognition of his Telugu language services in Mauritius and his efforts towards social progress in the countries of the Indian Ocean region, the India-Mauritius governments awarded him the then most prestigious “Order of the Star and Key of Indian Ocean” award which was awarded by the country’s President Prithviraj Singh Rupan.

Sanjeeva Narasimha Appadu’s roots are in Vizianagaram. His forefathers settled in Mauritius way back in the year 1894. Having learned Telugu grammar from his grandfather, Sanjeeva Narasimha Appadu received a BA (Hons) in Telugu from the University of Mauritius and Mahatma Gandhi Institute. The government recognized Sanjeeva Narasimha’s efforts for the spread of the Telugu language in the nation. He was appointed Telugu teaching officer in 320 schools out there.

He is working as the Head of the Telugu Department in Mauritius National Broadcasting and Doordarshan Centres. Apart from doing Telugu live broadcasts for four hours every day, he also works as their designer and commentator. The Telugu cultural heritage has been recorded by painting more than 1400 images on Ravi leaves and thus was recorded in the Guinness Book of World Records.
