Covaxin worked as a lifeline for many of us during the COVID times. Due to this vaccine among others, we could fight COVID strongly. Bharat Biotech brought us this Covaxin and now Padma Bhushan awardee, founder of Bharat Biotech Krishna Ella and Suchitra Ella are going to receive the TANA lifetime achievement award. It is reported that the voting on this proposal has been approved.

Krishna Ella obtained a bachelor’s degree from the Tamil Nadu Agricultural University and joined for a Master’s degree at the University of Agricultural Sciences, Bangalore. He has also completed his Master’s degree from the University of Hawaii. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin–Madison in the department of plant pathology.

Krishna Ella started his career by joining the pharmaceutical and life sciences company Bayer but later went to the US to pursue further education. Upon his return, Ella started Bharat Biotech in the year 1996. NRIs including Telugu people expressed their happiness in awarding the TANA lifetime achievement to Krishna Ella and Suchitra Ella.
