US Vice President JD Vance stated that the ongoing India-Pakistan conflict is “fundamentally none of our business” and emphasized that while the US will encourage both countries to de-escalate, it will not intervene in the war. Vance reiterated the US stance of pursuing the issue through diplomatic channels and expressed hope that tensions would not escalate into a regional or nuclear conflict. His comments came as Pakistan attempted to target Indian military establishments in Jammu and Pathankot, which was intercepted by India’s air defense system. President Donald Trump also urged both nations to halt the “tit-for-tat” actions, offering US assistance if needed.
