Just hours after the meeting of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Indian Origin British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak on the sidelines of the G20 summit, Sunak greenlights 3,000 visas to Indian professionals each year. The British government stated that as a part of the new UK Young Professionals Scheme, India is the first visa-national country to benefit.

The UK Prime Minister’s Office tweeted, “Today the UK-India Young Professionals Scheme was confirmed, offering 3,000 places to 18-30-year-old degree-educated Indian nationals to come to the UK to live and work for up to two years.”

Nearly a quarter of all the International Students in the UK belong to India. The Indian investment in the country supports 95,000 jobs.

The UK is also currently negotiating a deal worth £24 billion with India.
