Women Empowerment Telugu Association (WETA) has conducted a grand Women’s Day celebration event. On this occasion of International Women’s Day as many as 600 Women and girls participated in the event that was organized by WETA.
Carrolton Deputy Mayor Nancy Klein was the chief guest for the ceremony which started with the lighting of the Jyoti. Many cultural performances along with speeches by women serving in various fields of the Telugu diaspora.
Jhansi, founder of WETA said “Yatra Naryastu Pujyante Ramante Tatra Devtah” It says that where women are treated with respect, there are gods, and where women are looked down upon, their deeds will be wasted.
