Hyderabad: In a major step towards digitizing public transport services, Route Mobile Ltd, a cloud communication platform, has teamed up with Mumbai-based Billeasy E Solutions Pvt Ltd to launch an e-ticketing service for Hyderabad Metro Rail commuters. The service allows users to book e-tickets, save them in Google Wallet, and access them across multiple channels, offering a seamless and convenient travel experience.
This innovative service leverages Rich Communication Services (RCS) and Google Wallet technology, making L&T Metro Rail Hyderabad Ltd (L&TMRHL) the first metro service in India to adopt such an integrated solution. Through this partnership, commuters can now easily book and manage their metro tickets without the need for physical tickets, contributing to a smoother, contactless travel experience in line with global smart city trends.

Commenting on the launch, KVB Reddy, MD and CEO of L&T Metro Rail Hyderabad Ltd, highlighted the significance of the initiative. “The integration of RCS and Google Wallet marks a new turning point for digitizing public services in India. This collaboration underscores our commitment to leveraging technology to improve commuter convenience,” he said.
With digital wallets becoming increasingly popular, the Hyderabad Metro’s e-ticketing service is expected to set a benchmark in public transportation, catering to the city’s growing tech-savvy population and enhancing the overall efficiency of metro travel.
