We have seen many incidents where road accidents happened and many were killed. Recently, we have seen a terrible accident where seven youths from Aurangabad were killed in a road accident and the tyre burst was the primary reason for that. Why does the tyre burst? Here comes the point of car tyre air pressure.

The usual air pressure in cars according to international standards is 25 psi but in India, we generally follow 35 to 45 psi just to save fuel. Generally, having such high pressure will not become a problem but car tyres tend to change the temperatures which will increase with high speeds.

In a social experiment, the Mahindra Scorpio SUV was driven with a car tyre air pressure (PSI) of 25 as per international standards. After two hours of driving at around 120-140 km/hr speed, the car tyre pressure now changed to 52 psi and the temperature of the tire was around 92.5 degrees Celsius.

If the air pressure is around 35 psi, then it should become a problem, the car tire is more likely to explode. So fix your tyre pressure before you take on a highway ride.
