HYDERABAD: In a significant move, the Chandrababu Naidu-led government in Andhra Pradesh has announced allocations totaling Rs 10,500 crore for various sectors, including pensions, welfare schemes, and education. This allocation marks a substantial increase compared to previous budgets.
For farmers, an allocation of Rs 20,000 per acre has been earmarked, while students will receive Rs 15,000 per month for attending school. Additionally, women aged between 18 and 59 will receive Rs 15,000 per month, and unemployed youth will receive Rs 3,000 per month as an unemployment allowance. The government has also announced free travel for women on RTC buses as part of the super six scheme.
However, despite these allocations, Chandrababu Naidu’s government is facing challenges due to the state’s economic downturn. The state treasury has incurred significant losses, leading to negative balances in various sectors like agriculture and horticulture. The monthly salary disbursement for employees has been delayed, adding to the financial strain.
