Amazon which has laid off 10,000 employees recently, now is in planning to lay off more employees. Amazon has asked some of the Indian employees to resign voluntarily than terminating their contracts. With this, several Indian employees are planning the Voluntary Separation Program (VSP) which will give them monetary benefits.
Some Indian employees who are working in the L1 to L7 band have reportedly received a note stating that they are eligible for the company’s Voluntary Separation Program. Those who receive the note must enroll themselves in the VSP by November 30th which will make them eligible for monetary benefits.
Employees who fall in this category will receive 6 months of health insurance coverage and are eligible to receive 22 weeks of base pay plus one week of base pay for every six months of service. Employees who are currently in performance improvement programs (PIPs) are not eligible for VSP.
